Briar Cliff Charges Past Prairie Wolves 91-41

SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- Briar Cliff used a 24-3 run in the first half to build a 32-point halftime lead as the Chargers rolled past Nebraska Wesleyan, 91-41, in GPAC women's basketball on Saturday afternoon (Dec. 20) at the Newman Flanagan Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

The Prairie Wolves shot just 24.2 percent from the field, compared to 55.2 percent for the Chargers.  Briar Cliff was 19-30 from the field in the first half as they made 63.3 percent in the first 20 minutes to build up the 32 point halftime lead.

NWU trailed just 17-11 after a Kylee Ashley basket pulled the Prairie Wolves within six points with around 11 minutes remaining in the half.  From there, BCU went on a huge run and led 41-14 at the 2:32 mark before halftime as NWU managed just one basket during the eight minute stretch.

The Prairie Wolves, who fall to 1-9 overall and 0-6 in GPAC play, were led by Courtney Cook who had a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds.  Cook also had three assists and three steals in the game.  Felicia TeKolste also reached double figures with 11 points. 

Briar Cliff was led by Jessi Corrick who had 19 points.
