Women Snap Losing Streak With Big Win Over Lakeland

LINCOLN, Neb. - Nebraska Wesleyan snapped their six-game losing streak with a big 69-45 victory over Lakeland College on New Year's Eve afternoon at Snyder Arena in Lincoln in a non-conference women's basketball contest.

The Prairie Wolves (2-9) outscored the Muskies (2-9) by 20 points in the second half to earn the 24 point victory.

NWU picked up the victory over Coach Britni Fett's old school where she was an assistant before coming to Nebraska Wesleyan.

Felicia TeKolste had 24 points to lead the Prairie Wolves as she was 10-21 from the floor.  TeKolste dished out five assists, had seven rebounds and grabbed four steals in the complete effort on the afternoon.

The two NWU post players both had solid games in the paint.  Bridget Bucher scored 13 points with eight rebounds, while Courtney Cook had 12 points and eight boards.

NWU trailed by two points with three minutes to play in the first half but scored the final six points of the half and never trailed again.

Lakeland shot just 18.8 percent from the field in the second half going 6-32 from the floor and 1-12 from 3-point range.  They were led by C.J Usadel who scored 16 points on 4-10 from 3-point range.
