LINCOLN, Neb. -- Third-ranked Concordia University used a full court pressure defense to force Nebraska Wesleyan into 34 total turnovers as the Bulldogs defeated the Prairie Wolves 103-62 in GPAC women's basketball action on Wednesday night (Dec. 10) in Lincoln, Neb.
Nebraska Wesleyan held tough with the Bulldogs in the first portion of the game as the game was tied six times in the first eight minutes including a 21-21 tie with 11:57 to play. From there, Concordia stepped up the defensive pressure.
The Bulldogs went on a 18-2 run over the next six minutes to get a 16 point advantage and they went into halftime with a 52-29 lead. NWU shot 47.8 percent in the first half, but had 21 turnovers.
In the second half, Concordia opened with a 14-0 run to go ahead by over 30 points and they never looked back.
NWU finished with 34 total turnovers and Concordia scored 48 points off those turnovers. The Prairie Wolves were 3-10 from 3-point range and hit 42.2 percent of their total shots.
Felicia TeKolste led the Prairie Wolves with 19 points, going 9-10 at the free throw line.Â
Courtney Cook scored 13 points, while
Bridget Bucher scored 10 as three NWU players reached double figures.
Becky Mueller had 19 points for the third-ranked Bulldogs to lead four players in double figures.
