Box Score In one of the most physical matches of the season, the Nebraska Wesleyan University men's soccer team came up just short as Fontbonne University defeated the Prairie Wolves, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 15) at Abel Stadium in Lincoln.NWU drops to 2-3-1 overall and has now been shutout in back-to-back matches after falling 2-0 at Grinnell College on Saturday.Fontbonne got on the board in the first half as Zach Meyer scored off a deflected ball in front of the goal in the 32nd minute of the match.That would be the lone goal of the entire match as neither team could muster up any offense. Each team attempted just six total shots in the match as it was controlled by the physical defense of both teams.Nebraska Wesleyan will now open Great Plains Athletic Conference play on Friday night (Sept. 20) when they host Dakota Wesleyan for the homecoming match.
