Nebraska Wesleyan completed its nonconference portion of the schedule with a perfect 5-0 record for the second straight season as the Prairie Wolves went on the road to defeat Simpson College 74-64 on Tuesday afternoon (Dec. 31) in Indianola, Iowa.
NWU improves to 8-3 overall on the year while Simpson falls to 1-9 on the season.
The Prairie Wolves led the entire game and held a lead as large as 16 points before finishing with the 10 point victory.
Nebraska Wesleyan shot 54.7 percent from the field for the game and converted on four 3-point attempts. The Prairie Wolves had just nine turnovers in the game.
Trevor Johnson led the way once again for NWU with 22 points on 8-11 shooting from the floor. He added a team-high eight rebounds.Â
Eric Jackson scored 15 points and
Trent Scheitel came off the bench for 10 points.
NWU returns to GPAC play on Saturday as they host Mount Marty College
