Warriors Score Six To Defeat Prairie Wolves

Box Score
Midland University remained unbeaten in Great Plains Athletic Conference play as they defeated Nebraska Wesleyan, 6-1, in men's soccer action on Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 30) in Fremont, Neb.

It was the third straight loss for NWU as they fall to 4-12-1 overall.  Midland improves to 14-1-2 overall and 7-0-2 in the GPAC.

The Warriors wasted little time in getting on the scoreboard as they scored within the first minute.  Ali Sodal scored just 21 seconds into the match to put Midland up 1-0 early as they set the tone early.

In the final two minutes of the first half, the Warriors struck again putting together two more goals.  Nate Mishou scored in the 43rd minute, then with less than 30 seconds remaining in the half Adam Wood scored to make the score 3-0 at halftime.

Nebraska Wesleyan scored first in the second half as Zach Lind converted a penalty kick to pull the Prairie Wolves within two goals.

That would be as close as they could get as Midland added three additional goals within an eight minute stretch of the match.  Adam Wood scored two more goals to complete his hat trick, with Andy Jones adding the sixth goal.

NWU will close out the GPAC portion of their schedule this Saturday with a trip to Dordt College.
