Box Score Coe College scored two second half goals as the Kohawks went on to defeat the Prairie Wolves 2-0 in men's soccer action Monday afternoon (Oct. 21) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Nebraska Wesleyan held right with Coe in the first half as neither team was able to find the open net. NWU and Coe both had five shots in the first 45 minutes, but no goals were scored.
In the 71st minute Chris Fitch scored the first goal of the match giving the Kohawks the 1-0 lead. Eight minutes later, Coe added an insurance goal as Ryan Oppegard scored in the 79th minute.
NWU finished with 10 total shots, but the Prairie Wolves would be shutout for the eighth time this season.
The Prairie Wolves return to GPAC action this Saturday (Oct. 26) as they have their final home match of the season by hosting Morningside College at Abel Stadium.
