Storm Lake, IA – The Nebraska Wesleyan women's tennis came up just short in a 4-3 loss to Buena Vista on Saturday afternoon.
The Prairie Wolves claimed the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
Madison Marsh and
Jayna Erickson earned a 6-3 win at the top spot, while
Sylvia Kamradt and
Elizabeth Routh secured a tightly contested 7-6 victory at No. 2 doubles.
Nebraska Wesleyan also picked up wins at the top two singles positions. Marsh defeated Hannah Higgins in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 1 singles, and Erickson followed with a 6-3, 6-2, victory over Macy Weller at No. 2 singles.
Buena Vista closed things out by winning the final four singles matches to claim the team victory. Kamradt battled at No. 3 singles before falling 5-7, 3-6, while the Beavers also earned wins at No.4, 5, and 6 singles.
Nebraska Wesleyan continues conference play this week with three home matches. The Prairie Wolves host Simpson College on Tuesday, followed by Loras College on Friday and the University of Dubuque on Saturday.
