ABOUT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Nebraska Wesleyan battled hard in a 78-74 loss to Dubuque last Saturday, and seeks a return to its winning ways that vaulted the team into the top tier of the American Rivers Conference. NWU holds a 10-5 overall record, while going 5-1 against A-R-C opponents. The Prairie Wolves run an efficient offense that shoots at a 44 percent clip and averages 72.5 points per game.
Nick Howard is the team's leading scorer, averaging 14 points per game while making 46.5 of his field goal attempts. The Prairie Wolves spread the ball around with 245 assists, with
Christian Winn leading the team with 48. Defensively, the Black and Gold allow 68.5 points per game.
Seth Newton is a key cog in the Prairie Wolves' line up. Offensively, Newton leads the team in made three pointers (32), while pocketing 34 steals defensively. Newton also plays a key role in NWU's rebounding effort, grabbing 113 boards.
HEAD COACH DALE WELLMAN
Dale Wellman is in his 12th season as the head coach of Nebraska Wesleyan Men's Basketball, having led the Prairie Wolves to numerous accomplishments, including a national championship in 2018. Under his guidance, the program has seen five A-R-C Regular Season titles and multiple NCAA Tournament appearances. Wellman boasts an all-time record of 225-80 .
WINNING WAYS
Christian Winn is one of Nebraska Wesleyan's most dynamic offensive weapons. In addition to his team best 48 assists, Winn has posted 15 or more points in seven of NWU's 15 games, while reaching double figures in four others. Winn recorded a season best 24 points in NWUs 75-57 loss to Pacific Lutheran.
SCOUTING LORAS
Loras enters this week 12-3 and has won four consecutive games. The Duhawks are 6-0 in the A-R-C and will visit Luther on Wednesday, January 14th. Through 15 games, the Duhawks have scored 84.2 points per game, and allowed 72.7 points per game. Loras is led by Chris Martin, in his 10th season.
