Women's Tennis to Visit Central, Host Buena Vista as Season Begins to Ramp Up

Lincoln, NE - Nebraska Wesleyan women's tennis will travel to Pella, Iowa, for a match against Central College, before kick starting a three match home stand against Buena Vista.

LOCATION & MATCH TIME
Nebraska Wesleyan will visit Central on Wednesday, September 10th. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. The Prairie Wolves will host Buena Vista on Saturday, September 13th, at 1:00 p.m., at LSF Sports Complex, in Lincoln, Nebraska. 

ABOUT THE PRAIRIE WOLVES
Nebraska Wesleyan was defeated by Wartburg, 5-2, in their season opening match. Caitlin Hudson and Kylie Englesman enter this week unbeaten in singles play after earning victories against Wartburg. In doubles play, Hudson and Crystal Craft enter the week 1-0 after a dominating 6-1 win in one doubles. 

HEAD COACH LEE STEINBROOK 
Lee Steinbrook is in his sixth year as head coach at Nebraska Wesleyan. Under his leadership, the Prairie Wolves have consistently grown and competed at a high level, with multiple players earning conference honors. Steinbrook's focus on developing both the athletic and academic skills of his players has been a cornerstone of the team's success.

Nebraska Wesleyan has a storied history in women's tennis, winning 16 conference regular-season championships and seven conference tournament championships.

A LOOK AT THE DUTCH
Central enters Wednesday afternoon 3-0, after a 7-0 victory over Simpson. As a team, Central is 15-3 in singles play. The Dutch are coached by Ryun Ferrell, in his 12th season.

SERIES HISTORY VS CENTRAL COLLEGE
Wednesday will mark the 12th meeting between the Prairie Wolves and Dutch. Central holds a 9-2 edge in the all time series.

A LOOK AT THE BEAVERS
Buena Vista enters this week with an 0-5 record. Prior to facing NWU, the Beavers will take on Simpson College on Wednesday, September 10th. Through five matches, Buena Vista has posted a 1-23 record in singles play. Buena Vista is coached by Dan Taylor, in his seventh season.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST BUENA VISTA
Saturday will mark the 10th meeting between Nebraska Wesleyan and Buena Vista. NWU holds a 7-2 series lead.
