Volleyball Begins Back Half of Season with Home Opener and Three Road Matches

Lincoln, NE - Holding a 10-3 record at the midway point of the season, Nebraska Wesleyan volleyball begins the second half of its 2025 campaign with a home opening match against Buena Vista, before road tests at Simpson, St.Olaf, and Wisconsin-La Crosse.

GAME TIME, LOCATION, LIVE STREAM & LIVE STATS
Nebraska Wesleyan and Buena Vista will face off at 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, September 30th, at Snyder Arena, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Nebraska Wesleyan will live stream the game and carry live stats. The Prairie Wolves then head to Indianola, Iowa, for a Friday evening match at Simpson College. The Storm will live stream the game and carry live stats. NWU will conclude its weekend against St. Olaf and UW-Lacrosse on Saturday, October 4th. The matches will be played and Northfield, Minnesota. St. Olaf's College will live stream both games and carry live stats.

A LOOK AT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Nebraska Wesleyan enters Tuesday looking to bounce back from a tough five set loss to Central in its American Rivers Conference opening match. Through 13 matches, the Prairie Wolves are 10-3, with each match taking place outside the state of Nebraska. The Black and Gold carry a hitting percentage of .190, with 644 kills on 1,896 attempts. NWU has recorded 603 assists and 102 aces. Thus far, Macy Plucker and Molly Ramirez have generated 175 and 157 kills respectively, while combining to hit .249. Setting up the offense is Elecea Saathoff who has contributed 533 assists, while Sydney Benson has recorded 25 aces. Defensively, NWU has 866 digs, and 71 blocks. Libero Raegan Holle has posted a team best 215 digs, while Ella Foote leads the Prairie Wolves with 34 blocks.

HEAD COACH RAYNA CAIN
Head Coach Rayna Cain is in her 14th season at the helm, with a career record of 204-153. She's guided NWU to one NCAA tournament appearance and coached 31 All-Conference athletes. 

NEBRASKA WESLEYAN VOLLEYBALL TRADITION
Nebraska Wesleyan boasts a proud history in volleyball, with 15 NCAA Division III tournament appearances, and five conference championships. Academically, NWU has posted 22 AVCA team academic awards since 1997. 

SCOUTING BUENA VISTA
Buena Vista enters Tuesday 5-9, after falling to Simpson College 3-1 in their last match. The Beavers maintain a .154 hitting percentage, with 541 kills, 467 assists, and 101 aces. Defensively, Buena Vista has recorded 716 digs, and 72 blocks. The Beavers are led by Will Baumann, in his fourth season.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST BUENA VISTA
Tuesday will mark the 19th meeting between Nebraska Wesleyan and Buena Vista. The Prairie Wolves hold a 10-8 edge in the all-time series.

SCOUTING SIMPSON
Simpson enters this week fresh off a 3-1 victory over Buena Vista. The Storm are 12-3 overall and will face Central College on Wednesday before hosting NWU on Friday. The Storm carry a hitting percentage of .200, with 703 kills, 634 assists, and 111 aces. On Defense, Simpson has 903 digs and 111 blocks. The Storm are led by Dani Kohut Lynch, in her first season.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST SIMPSON
Friday will mark the 34th meeting between Nebraska Wesleyan and Simpson. The Prairie Wolves hold a 24-9 lead in the all-time series.

SCOUTING ST.OLAF
St. Olaf carries a 10-6 record into a week that will see the Oles compete against Concordia College on Friday evening before facing Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday. The Oles hold a .171 hitting percentage, with 716 kills, 671 assists, and 89 aces. Defensively, the Oles have recorded 1,006 digs, and 95.5 blocks. St. Olaf is coached by Alicia Wood, in her second season.

Saturday will mark the 14th meeting between Nebraska Wesleyan and St. Olaf. The Prairie Wolves hold a 7-6 lead in the all-time series.

SCOUTING WISCONSIN-LA CROSSE
Wisconsin-La Crosse enters this week 14-6 and riding a four match winning streak. The Eagles will face Wisconsin Whitewater on Wednesday, October 1st, before playing NWU on Saturday. The Eagles hit at a .158 clip, with 655 kills, 617 assists, and 141 aces. Defensively, UW-La Crosse has posted 933 digs, and 118 blocks. The Eagles are coached by Deb Sazama, in her third season.

Saturday will mark the seventh meeting between Nebraska Wesleyan and UW-La Crosse. The Prairie Wolves hold a 5-1 lead in the all-time series.
