LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves fell to (RV) Gustavus Adolphus by a score of 3-1 on Monday, September 22, 2025, at Abel Stadium. The Prairie Wolves now stand at 2-3-3 on the season, while Gustavus Adolphus improves to 6-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Prairie Wolves came out firing, with Caden Tubaugh scoring just 35 seconds into the match. Tubaugh's goal, a strike from outside the box that found the top left shelf, set the tone early for Nebraska Wesleyan. Despite the early momentum, the Prairie Wolves' offensive execution wasn't strong enough to sustain the lead.
Goalkeeper Graedon Hilton played all 90 minutes, reeling in five saves while facing 19 shots. Gustavus Adolphus's keeper made four saves after seeing ten shots from the Prairie Wolves.
The Golden Gusties found their rhythm in the second half, scoring three unanswered goals. Their first goal came off a set-piece corner, with a header finding the top right shelf. The second goal resulted from a mishit by a Prairie Wolves defender back to the goalie, which was intercepted and put into the back of the net. The same Gustavus Adolphus player scored the final goal, chipping a header over Hilton.
The Prairie Wolves defense struggled in the second half as the Gusties' attack and back line gained momentum.
