Men's Soccer Battle Loras to 1-1 Draw

Lincoln, NE - Nebraska Wesleyan battled Loras to a 1-1 draw, Saturday night, in the Prairie Wolves' American Rivers Conference opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED
1st Half:
Loras opened the scoring just 3:51 into the game on a goal from Cole Bridson. From there, NWU's attack took over, outshooting the Duhawks 5-1 over the remaining 41 minutes of the first half. However, none of the shots found the back of the net as the Duhawks carried a 1-0 lead into the locker room. 

2nd Half: Nebraska Wesleyan ramped up its offensive intensity in the second half, as Franklyn Herasme, Kaysha Shagavah, and Thomas Pisasale each fired off shots in the first four minutes of the half, with Alexander Drexler making all three saves. Wil Tobaben and Isaac Havemeier followed suit with shot attempts in the 53rd and 63rd minutes, with Drexler again making a key saves to keep the Duhawks in front. Still needing a goal to tie the game, Nebraska Wesleyan elevated its offense to another level, outshooting Loras 10-1 over the next 20 minutes. With time dwindling down, Max Matthies found his way past his defender on the right side, sending the ball into the box and finding Owen Hunt's right foot to tie the game the game in the 85th minute. Loras would go on to create one more scoring change, but Graedon Hilton made a clutch save as time expired to secure a 1-1 tie.
