LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Wesleyan junior midfielder Franklyn Herasme (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) was named the American Rivers Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Aug. 25–31, the league announced on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
The honor is Herasme's first career A-R-C weekly award and the first for NWU men's soccer since Samuel Schendt earned the same recognition on Oct. 21, 2024.
Herasme delivered a standout performance to open the 2025 season, scoring in both matches as the Prairie Wolves went 1-0-1 on the road. Herasme netted a goal in NWU's 1-1 draw against St. John's (Minn.) and added another in a 3-1 win over Concordia (Minn.), pacing the team with two goals on the weekend. The 6-foot-1 midfielder now has three career goals and leads NWU with two this season.
Nebraska Wesleyan continues its road stretch this weekend with a pair of matches in Kentucky, beginning Friday, Sept. 5 at Centre College. Kickoff is set for 7:45 p.m. CT.
