Lincoln, Neb. – Nebraska Wesleyan men's soccer earned its first win of the 2025 season, after thumping Concordia (MN) 3-1, Sunday afternoon. The Prairie Wolves now sit at 1-0-1, while Concordia drops to 0-1-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
Nebraska Wesleyan came out firing on all cylinders, totaling six shots in the first 21 minutes of game time, before
Isaac Havemeier drilled his first goal of the year in the 22nd minute. The Prairie Wolves continued to press the Cobbers over the ensuing 23 minutes, totaling three more shots, while playing stifling defense and allowing just one Concordia shot.
Second Half
Seeking to build a bigger lead, NWU put the hammer down, totaling two quick shots, before back to back goals from
Morgan Armagost and
Franklyn Herasme made the score 3-0. However, Concordia responded with a goal in the 61st minute to cut the lead to two. From then on, both defenses settled in as the teams combined for two shots.
