ABOUT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Saturday will see Nebraska Wesleyan compete at its second meet of the 2025 season, with the Prairie Wolves opening their season at the Augustana Twilight on Friday, September 5th. The Prairie Wolf men took sixth overall, with Connor Ross pacing the team with a 36th place finish, crossing the line in 19:48.06. The Prairie Wolf women earned 13th in a competitive field, where freshman
Jenna Lake burst onto the scene, leading NWU while placing 73rd overall. After two weeks without a meet, the team is excited to hit the course at home on Saturday.
35 YEARS OF GREENO / DIRKSEN
This Saturday marks the 35th running of the Greeno / Dirksen Invitational, a tradition that began in 1990 when Nebraska Wesleyan and UNL combined their meets. The invitational has grown into one of Nebraska's largest annual collegiate meets, with this years race featuring over 700 athletes athletes from colleges, universities, and running clubs.
HEAD COACH CHAD BERENS
Chad Berens is in his third year as head coach for Nebraska Wesleyan cross country. Prior to joining NWU, Berens served as the director of track and field and cross country operations at the University of Utah.
NEBRASKA WESLEYAN CROSS COUNTRY TRADITION
Nebraska Wesleyan has a rich cross country tradition. The men's team has captured 22 conference championships, while the women's team has won 15. Nationally, the men have finished in the top 10 nine times, and the women have placed in the top 20 nine times.
