Sioux Falls, SD – Nebraska Wesleyan cross country opened the 2026 season late Friday night at the Augustana Twilight meet. The men's 5,000-meter race began at 9:45 p.m., while the women's 5,000-meter race started at 10:15 p.m. The meet featured teams from all three NCAA divisions, as well as the NJCAA and NAIA.
In the first race of the night, the Prairie Wolf men placed 10th out of 33 teams. Nebraska Wesleyan was led by junior
Kyle Finney, who finished 56th overall in a time of 15:49.8. The next four Prairie Wolves recorded times within 15 seconds of one another. Senior
Conner Ross finished 95th in 16:13.6,
Landon Miller placed 113th in 16:21.2,
Dylan Lender ran 16:26.3 to finish 122nd, and freshman
Jackson Sorben was close behind in 16:28.6, placing 129th to round out the scoring lineup. Nebraska Wesleyan also showed its depth, with its next five runners crossing the line within a five-second span.
The women placed 15th out of 28 teams. Sophomore
Aubrey Kipper led the Prairie Wolves, crossing the line in 19:37.9 to finish 93rd overall.
Madelyn McBratney was close behind, running 19:42.1 to place 99th.
Jenna Lake,
Erin Chambers, and
Mira Comstock rounded out the scoring lineup. Lake finished 109th in 19:54.6, Chambers placed 120st in 20:02.1, and Comstock finished 144th in 20:14.9.
Reese Kozisek and
Alexis O'Connell both ran sub-20:30 times, clocking marks of 20:27.6 and 20:29.0, respectively, to complete the top seven.
Nebraska Wesleyan cross country returns to Lincoln for its next race on Saturday, Sept. 19. The Prairie Wolves will co-host the Greeno/Dirksen Invitational with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln at Mahoney Golf Course.
