LINCOLN, Neb. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced Monday that the Nebraska Wesleyan University volleyball program has earned the 2024–25 AVCA Team Academic Award, sponsored by INTENT.

The Prairie Wolves posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.74 during the 2024–25 academic year, including a 3.77 mark during the fall semester. This marks the 21st consecutive season NWU has earned the AVCA Team Academic Award, and 24th overall, since the award's inception in 1992.

Nebraska Wesleyan was also named to the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll, placing the program in the top 20% of NCAA Division III teams nationally in team GPA.

This academic recognition comes after NWU placed multiple student-athletes on the American Rivers Conference All-Academic list and continued its long-standing tradition of academic success under head coach Rayna Cain. The volleyball program remains a pillar of Nebraska Wesleyan's scholar-athlete model, consistently producing standout contributors both on and off the court.

The AVCA Team Academic Award recognizes collegiate and high school programs that maintain a year-long GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale. A record 1,450 programs earned the distinction this year across all divisions of the sport.
