Casey Clements Named Head Cheer and Dance Coach at NWU

LINCOLN, Neb. (July 14, 2025) – Nebraska Wesleyan University has named Casey Clements as its new Head Cheer and Dance Coach, Director of Athletics Dwight Merilatt announced Monday.

"I'm excited that Casey will be joining our department as the new Head Cheer and Dance Coach," Merilatt said. "I know she will continue the growth of our cheer & dance programs and I look forward to her leadership as we expand opportunities for both teams."

Clements brings over a decade of high school coaching experience to the Prairie Wolves, most recently serving as the head cheer coach at Elmwood-Murdock High School. A well-known name in Nebraska cheer circles, Clements was named the 2024–25 Nebraska Coaches Association Cheer Coach of the Year.

Her squads have consistently placed top five at Nebraska State Cheer, often competing with fewer than 10 athletes.

"I've been coaching high school cheer for 10 years, so I love the challenge of stepping up to the next level," Clements said. "My favorite part of cheer and dance is seeing the potential in someone and helping them reach goals they set for themselves, not just as an athlete, but as a person. I'm excited to see this program grow and succeed as we move forward."

Clements holds multiple certifications including NFHS Cheer & Dance, USA Cheer, and AFAA Group Fitness.
