Cheer and Dance Teams Set to Compete in American Rivers Conference Championship

STORM LAKE, Iowa (February 13th, 2025) - On Sunday, February 16, the American Rivers Conference will hold their Cheer & Dance Conference Championships in Storm Lake, Iowa. The Nebraska Wesleyan cheer team and Gold Rush dance team are both competing in the conference championships.

ABOUT THE CHAMPIONSHIP MEET
The A-R-C Championship meet will feature a Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Pom division for dance, and five person group stunt, game day, and 2.5 minute for cheer. The competitive dance champion will be 
The A-R-C Championship meet will include divisions for Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Pom in dance, as well as Five-Person Group Stunt, Game Day, and 2.5-Minute routines in cheer. The competitive dance champion will be determined by averaging the scores from the pom and jazz routines, with a champion crowned in each individual division. In cheer, the conference champion will be decided based on the score from the 2.5-minute routine, with each division also naming its own champion.

ABOUT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Nebraska Wesleyan returns as the defending champion in the cheer gameday division. NWU earned second overall in the dance division and earned a podium finish in the hip hop, jazz, and pom divisions. The Prairie Wolves also saw Ella Bonness and Madi Witcig earn all-conference honors.
