LINCOLN, Neb. – Nine student-athletes from Nebraska Wesleyan University have earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large honors, with the men's golf, women's golf, and wrestling programs represented.
The CSC Academic All-District® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. To be nominated, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average and meet specific athletic criteria based on their respective sport.
From the men's golf program, Harrison Weddell, Brayden Schram, and Jackson Lapour were recognized. Weddell, a sophomore Project Management major with a 3.98 GPA, consistently contributed to the Prairie Wolves' lineup this spring. He recorded a season-low round of 69 at the Grand View Invitational and secured five top-10 finishes over the season. Schram, a junior Business Administration major holding a 3.90 GPA, became a key contributor, posting a season-best 70 at the Doane Spring Invitational. Lapour, a junior Business Administration major with a 3.83 GPA, made a big impact, shooting a school record round of 65 at the Doane Spring Invitation and had two top-five finishes on the season.
The wrestling program saw two student-athletes earn honors. Seth Littrell, a junior Chemistry major with a 3.83 GPA, concluded his career at the NCAA Division III Lower Midwest Regional at 165 pounds, finishing the season with 13 wins. Jared Gallub, a senior Biology major maintaining a 3.92 GPA, recorded 23 wins at 141/149 pounds. Gallub earned NWCA Scholar All-American honors after finishing 5th at the NCAA Lower Midwest Regional earlier this year. Gallub was selected as a finalist for the ballot to become a CSC Academic All-American. The At-Large Academic All-American awards will be announced on Wednesday, July 9.
Five student-athletes from the women's golf program were also honored. Haley Blackstone, a sophomore Health and Fitness Studies major with a 3.90 GPA competed in all ten varsity tournaments. Amos, a sophomore Social Work major holding a 3.87 GPA, competed in all ten tournaments for the Prairie Wolves. Jackson, a senior Nursing major with a 3.80 GPA, was a consistent presence in the lineup, playing in every tournament and contributing four top ten finishes this season. Harper, a sophomore Nursing major maintaining a 3.67 GPA, demonstrated significant improvement this year, lowering her scoring average from her freshman season.
