Men’s Golf Finishes Third at Mid-South Classic, Sets 54 Hole Program Record at +6

NEWTON, Kan. — The Nebraska Wesleyan men's golf team turned in a historic performance at the Mid-South Classic this week, finishing third out of 18 teams and setting a new program record for 54-hole score vs. par at +6. The Prairie Wolves posted rounds of 290, 286, and 294 at Sand Creek Station to total 870, besting the previous record of +9 set last season at the Bent Tree Intercollegiate Showcase.

Sophomore Jacob Cosimano led the charge with a three-under-par finish, placing third individually and ranking among the tournament's top performers in par-5 scoring (4.75) and birdies (12). Harrison Weddell and Jackson Lapour each tied for 15th at +3, while Travis Tilford (+5, T-26) and Brayden Schram (+9, T-39) rounded out NWU's scoring five.

Weddell led the team in pars with 38, while Lapour and Tilford each recorded eight birdies. The Prairie Wolves also saw strong par-5 play across the board, with all five golfers finishing under par on those holes.

Nebraska Wesleyan will return to action Sept. 19–20 at the Midwest Region Classic hosted by Benedictine (Ill.) in Kansasville, Wisconsin.
