WAVERLY, Iowa. — Nebraska Wesleyan narrowly fell 4-3 to Wartburg in a match decided by third-set tiebreakers at #5 and #6 singles. The Prairie Wolves (6-7, 4-2 A-R-C) took the doubles point and two singles matches but couldn't close out the Knights (16-14, 5-2 A-R-C).

NWU started strong with Jacob Balfany/Sam Rademacher and Ian Armbrust/Glenn McChristian winning #1 and #3 doubles 6-3. Balfany carried momentum into singles, edging Wartburg's Jeff Miller 7-6(4), 6-1 at #1. Gavin Nichols clinched a gritty 7-6(5), 6-4 win over Cade Davis at #2.
The Knights countered with straight-set wins at #3 (Robert Matera over Rademacher 6-0, 6-1) and #4 (Milan Lecic over Tyler Blair 6-4, 6-0). Kyle Schlin's 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 victory at #5 tied the match 3-3, leaving #6 singles as the decider.
