LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Wesleyan women's basketball players Carney Black, Tessa Skelton, and Miranda Oesterreich were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday.
The award recognizes student-athletes who excel on the court and in the classroom. Nominees must maintain a 3.50+ GPA, compete in at least 90% of games, and hold a significant role on their team.
Black, a junior forward from Tilden, averaged 8.6 points and 7.2 rebounds while majoring in Exercise Science. Black shot 39% from three and scored in double figures 10 times.
Skelton, a junior guard from Fort Calhoun, posted 5.8 points and 1.5 rebounds per game while pursuing a Nursing degree. Skelton started in 24 games this season.
Oesterreich, a senior guard from Lockport, Illinois, played in all 25 games as the Prairie Wolves lone senior. A Biology major, she averaged 3.0 rebounds per game.
