LINCOLN, Neb.—For the second time this season, Nebraska Wesleyan senior Carter Betts has been named the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Position Player of the Week. The Omaha native put on a show at the plate, leading the Prairie Wolves to a 10-1 record—the best start in program history.
Betts hit .423 (11-for-26) over six games, scoring 9 runs and driving in 13 RBIs. He launched 2 home runs, including a two-homer, five-RBI performance in a 12-10 win over Greenville. Betts also added 4 triples, with two coming in a single game against SUNY Poly. His power surge contributed to a 1.509 OPS, the highest on the team this season.
Defensively, Betts was just as reliable, posting a 6 putouts and 12 assists. His consistency at the plate and in the field has been a driving force behind Nebraska Wesleyan's historic start.
The Prairie Wolves look to keep rolling as they head into conference play this weekend. First pitch is set for Friday at 6:00 PM against Loras College at the brand new Sandhills Global Youth Complex.
