MELBOURNE, Fla. – Nebraska Wesleyan Softball continued its impressive start to the 2025 season, sweeping a doubleheader at the Space Coast Games on Tuesday. The Prairie Wolves defeated Anna Maria 8-0 and Fitchburg State 8-0, both in six innings via the run rule. NWU improved to 8-2.
Game 1: Nebraska Wesleyan 8, Anna Maria 0 (6 innings)
The Prairie Wolves wasted no time asserting their dominance, scoring in five of six innings while holding Anna Maria to just four hits. Junior pitcher Jaedyn Ratzlaff (1-0) was stellar in the circle, tossing a complete-game shutout with two one walks.
NWU broke through in the second inning when Eva Fahrnbruch singled, stole second and third and scored on a sacrifice bunt by Hanna Roth. The Prairie Wolves added two more in the third, highlighted by Fahrnbruch's RBI single, and extended their lead in the fourth with a two-RBI double from Val Gerlach.
The offense sealed the game in the sixth inning, scoring two runs to trigger the run rule. Taylor Korecky delivered the final blow with an RBI sac fly, capping off a 16-hit performance by the Prairie Wolves.

NWU's offense stayed hot in the nightcap, while Elise Warneke once again dominated in the circle, allowing just one hit and striking out eight over six innings.
The Prairie Wolves struck early, with Hanna Roth launching an inside-the-park home run in the first inning. NWU capitalized on Fitchburg State errors in the second and third innings, scoring four unearned runs to take a commanding 5-0 lead.
Kamdyn Sprunk added an RBI double in the fourth, and Addi Duranski drove in a run in the fifth and Lyndsey Roth did the same in the sixth inning to secure the run-rule victory. The Prairie Wolves' defense was flawless, committing no errors in the game.
