Women's Basketball to Host Simpson and Visit Coe as Season Nears a Close

LINCOLN, Neb. (February 11th, 2025) - After falling at Wartburg, 81-38, Nebraska Wesleyan is set to play Simpson and Coe during the penultimate week of the 2024-25 regular season. 

LOCATION, GAME TIME, LIVE STREAM & LIVE STATS
Nebraska Wesleyan will host Simpson on Thursday, February 13th, with game time set for 5:30 p.m. This game was originally scheduled for Wednesday February 12th, but was moved to Thursday due to weather and safety concerns. Nebraska Wesleyan will live stream the game and carry live stats. Nebraska Wesleyan will visit Coe on Saturday, February 15th, with game time set for 2:00 p.m. Coe will live stream the game and carry live stats

ABOUT THE PRAIRIE WOLVES
Nebraska Wesleyan (1-20, 0-12 A-R-C), was defeated by Wartburg, 81-38, in their last game. The Prairie Wolves enter this week on a 10 game losing streak. NWU's lone win of 2024-25 came on New Year's Eve where the Prairie Wolves defeated Crown College 82-53.

HEAD COACH JIM WIEDIE
Jim Wiedie is in his first season as head coach in 2024. He holds an 1-20 record as the head coach at NWU. Wiedie brings with him a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success. Wiedie has amassed an overall coaching record of 311-226 across 19 years as a head coach at the NCAA Division I and II levels. Known for his strong player development, Wiedie will look to instill a winning culture at Nebraska Wesleyan.

Before joining the Prairie Wolves, Wiedie served as an assistant coach at the University of Nebraska Omaha, focusing on recruiting and player development. He also holds the distinction of being the all-time winningest coach at both the University of Findlay during their Division II era and Indiana State University, leading those programs to new heights.

Coe enters this week riding a four game winning streak and holding a record of (17-4, 9-3 A-R-C). Prior to hosting NWU, Coe will visit Luther on Wednesday, February 12th. The Kohawks score an average of 71.9 points per game, and allow an average of 59.2 points per game. Coe holds a shooting percentage of 45.2, with a 34.2% mark from three. The Kohawks shoot 78.1% from the free throw line. The Kohawks are led by coach Kayla Waskow, in her eighth season.
