Men's Basketball Returns to Lincoln for Showdown with Coe

Lincoln, NE - Fresh off a convincing 70-53 victory over Luther, Nebraska Wesleyan men's basketball returns to Lincoln for a Saturday afternoon showdown with Coe. 

GAME TIME, LOCATION, LIVE STREAM & LIVE STATS
Nebraska Wesleyan and Coe will tip off at 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 13th. The game will be played at Snyder Arena, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Nebraska Wesleyan will live stream the game and provide live stats.

ABOUT THE PRAIRIE WOLVES
Nebraska Wesleyan enters Saturday afternoon riding a four game winning streak, which has seen NWU outscore its opponents 310-246. Overall, the Black and Gold sit at 7-3, with a perfect 2-0 record in American Rivers Conference play. Offensively, the Prairie Wolves are efficient, shooting at a .430 clip and averaging 71.7 points per game. NWU posts a respectable .371 three point percentage, while shooting a .624 mark from the free throw line. Leading the offense is the electric duo of Nick Howard and Christian Winn, who average 14.3 and 12.3 points per game. Winn has also emerged as a facilitator, dishing out 27 assists. Beyond the arc, Neal Mosser and Seth Newton both shoot above 40% with each making 21 threes. Newton doubles as the teams leader in rebounds, averaging seven per game. NWU has totaled 299 rebounds as a team. Defensively, NWU holds its opponents to a .443 shooting percentage and allows 67 points per game. The Black and Gold have totaled 95 steals and 17 blocked shots. Seth Newton leads the team with 16 steals, while Nick Howard has blocked a team best six shots. 
 

HEAD COACH DALE WELLMAN
Dale Wellman is in his 12th season as the head coach of Nebraska Wesleyan Men's Basketball, having led the Prairie Wolves to numerous accomplishments, including a national championship in 2018. Under his guidance, the program has seen five A-R-C Regular Season titles and multiple NCAA Tournament appearances. Wellman boasts an all-time record of 221-78. 

STRONG HOME START
Nebraska Wesleyan is looking to win its first two home conference games for the second consecutive season. Overall, NWU is 26-4 in home games since 2023, and 15-2 against American Rivers Conference opponents.

SCOUTING THE KOHAWKS
Coe is 6-2 overall and 1-1 in A-R-C play after a one point loss to Wartburg. The Kohawks average 75.5 points per game and shoot.464 from the floor. Defensively, Coe allows 68.3 points per game. The Kohawks are led by John Payan, in his second season.
