LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska Wesleyan's 2025 football season earned national recognition as four Prairie Wolves were named to the D3football.com Region 5 All-Region Teams, it was announced Wednesday morning.
Senior offensive guard Owen Anthony led the way with a Second Team Offense selection after anchoring one of the most efficient offensive lines in Region 5. A team captain, Anthony started all 10 games and graded out at above 90 percent on the season, allowing just one sack while helping the Prairie Wolves average 300+ yards of total offense per game.
Wide receiver Joey McLaughlin earned Third Team Offense honors following a breakout campaign that saw him become one of the conference's most reliable deep threats. McLaughlin finished with 66 receptions for 920 yards and nine touchdowns, posting five 100-yard performances and averaging 13.94 yards per catch.
Running back Trystin Myers was named Third Team Offense after producing one of the most productive rushing seasons in program history. Myers rushed for 902 yards and eight touchdowns on 164 carries, averaging 5.5 yards per attempt while adding 23 receptions out of the backfield.
Long snapper Sam Contreras capped the group with Third Team All-Region honors after delivering a flawless season in the kicking game. The sophomore snapped on every punt, PAT and field goal attempt.
The four selections are the most in program history. All-Region teams are voted on by sports information directors and media members from across the region and recognize the top performers throughout the Division III football season.
