Volleyball to Visit Central in Opening Round of A-R-C Tournament

Lincoln, NE - Nebraska Wesleyan volleyball is set for a Tuesday evening clash with Central College in the first round of the 2025 American Rivers Conference tournament.

GAME TIME, LOCATION, LIVE STREAM & LIVE STATS
Nebraska Wesleyan and Central is slated to begin at 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, November 11th. The match will be played at P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium, in Pella, Iowa. Central will live stream both games and carry live stats.

A LOOK AT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Nebraska Wesleyan earned a split with Westminster in their last set of games, winning the first game,3-0, before falling in four sets in the second. The Prairie Wolves finished the regular season 17-9 overall and ranked fifth in the American Rivers Conference with a 4-4 record. The Prairie Wolves boast an efficient offense that averages 15.86 points per set, while holding a .180 hitting percentage. The Black and Gold have racked up 1,259 kills, 1,163 assists, and 195 aces. The Prairie Wolf offense features a lethal three pronged attack of Macy Plucker, Molly Ramirez, and Jera Schuerman, who have combined for 905 kills. Junior Elecea Saathoff has posted a team best 1,034 kills, while Sydney Benson continues to impress with 43 aces. Defensively, NWU allows 13.31 points per set and has tallied 1,653 digs, and 147.5 blocks. Senior Raegan Holle has been elite defensively with 429 digs, while Ella Foote mans the middle with 68 blocks.

HEAD COACH RAYNA CAIN
Head Coach Rayna Cain is in her 14th season at the helm, with a career record of 211-160. She's guided NWU to one NCAA tournament appearance and coached 31 All-Conference athletes. 

TOURNAMENT EXPERIENCE
Nebraska Wesleyan will be making its fourth consecutive appearance in the American Rivers Conference tournament. The Prairie Wolves are 1-3 in A-R-C tournament games since 2022. Overall, NWU has qualified for the A-R-C tournament six times since joining the conference in 2016.

STACKING SUCCESS
Nebraska Wesleyan has won 17 or more games in four consecutive seasons, while posting an overall record of 78-37. The last time NWU accomplished the feat was when the program had four straight 17+ wins seasons from 2007-2010. 

NEBRASKA WESLEYAN VOLLEYBALL TRADITION
Nebraska Wesleyan boasts a proud history in volleyball, with 15 NCAA Division III tournament appearances, and five conference championships. Academically, NWU has posted 22 AVCA team academic awards since 1997. 

SCOUTING CENTRAL
After posting a 21-8 overall record and going 5-3 in the American Rivers Conference, Central enters the tournament as the fourth seed. The Dutch finished the regular season with a .194 hitting percentage, while averaging 16.28 points per set. The Dutch totaled 1,372 kills, 1,238 assists, 207 aces, 1,760 digs, and 163 blocks. Central is led by Jeanne Czipri, in her ninth season.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST CENTRAL
Tuesday will see Nebraska Wesleyan and Central meet for the 35th time overall and second time this season. The Prairie Wolves lead the all-time series 18-16, but fell to the Dutch in five sets during their regular season match up.
