FULTON, Mo. (Nov. 4, 2025) – The Nebraska Wesleyan volleyball team wrapped up its 2025 regular season on Tuesday with a split in Fulton, Missouri, taking a 3-0 sweep over Westminster (Mo.) in the opener before falling 3-1 in the nightcap.
The afternoon match saw Nebraska Wesleyan (17-9, 4-4 A-R-C) cruise to a 3-0 (25-13, 25-22, 25-19) victory, sweeping the Blue Jays in straight sets to start the day. Following that, the Prairie Wolves returned to the court for the nightcap, where Westminster responded with a 3-1 (21-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-23) win to close out the doubleheader.
Macy Plucker led the Prairie Wolves offensively, combining for 25 kills across the two matches. Ava Stone tallied six total blocks, while Raegan Holle collected 40 digs on the day. Grayson Piening also chipped in 17 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Match One: Nebraska Wesleyan 3, Westminster (Mo.) 0
Nebraska Wesleyan controlled the tempo early, dominating the first set 25-13 before fending off a late Westminster push to take set two, 25-22. In the third, the Prairie Wolves opened on a 7-2 run and never looked back.
Plucker led the way with a match-high 11 kills and eight digs, while Ella Foote added eight kills of her own. Setter Elecea Saathoff dished out 25 assists, and Stone anchored the defense at the net with five blocks. Foote sealed the sweep with back-to-back kills to close the match.
Match Two: Westminster (Mo.) 3, Nebraska Wesleyan 1
The Blue Jays, leaders of the SLIAC and ranked No. 107 in the latest NPI standings, flipped the script in the nightcap. Nebraska Wesleyan opened strong, taking the first set 25-21, but Westminster would rally to capture the next three frames.
Holle notched her ninth 20-dig match of the season with 21 digs, while Foote added nine kills and a solo block. Plucker again paced the Prairie Wolves with 14 kills, and Stone added another block assist in the four-set battle.
