Box Score LINCOLN, NEB. – The Nebraska Wesleyan University women's tennis team faced a tough challenge on Tuesday, October 7, as they fell to Concordia University (NE) by a score of 6-1. The Prairie Wolves, now 2-8 overall (2-6 A-R-C), concluded their fall dual match season with this contest, while Concordia improved to 2-0.
Despite the overall loss, the Prairie Wolves showcased their resilience and determination, particularly in the doubles competition, where they earned the initial point of the match.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Prairie Wolves started strong in doubles play, with Kylie Engelsman and Parker Brown securing a victory at No. 2 doubles, followed by Jayna Erickson and Gracey Smith's win at No. 3 doubles. This marked a significant achievement for both Brown and Smith, as they each earned their 16th career doubles victory.
However, the singles matches proved to be a challenge for the Prairie Wolves, as they were unable to secure any additional points against a formidable Concordia squad. The Bulldogs displayed their depth and skill, ultimately claiming victory in all six singles matches.
