Indianola, IA - Nebraska Wesleyan women's soccer fell to Simpson College, 5-0, on Saturday afternoon. The Prairie Wolves battled through a strong first half, but the Storm's offensive surge after halftime proved too much to overcome.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half: Simpson controlled much of the early possession, firing nine total shots in the opening frame. Goalkeeper
Jena Schultz kept NWU level with four key saves, including two from close range, to send the match into halftime scoreless. Offensively,
Ryleigh Singh and
Faith Forehand each recorded a shot as the Prairie Wolves looked to find their rhythm in transition.
Second Half: Simpson broke through in the 53rd minute and quickly doubled its lead with a second goal in the 66th. NWU pushed forward midway through the half, generating chances from
Emily Jasa, who took two quick shots, but neither found the net. The Storm added three late goals to pull away and secure the win.
