Volleyball surges past Loras

DUBUQUE, Iowa (Oct. 17, 2025) – Nebraska Wesleyan volleyball extended its winning streak to two matches with a strong 3–1 conference victory over Loras College (25–21, 23–25, 25–19, 25–18) on Friday night. The Prairie Wolves improved to 13–6 overall and 2–2 in American Rivers Conference play, while the Duhawks dropped to 5–15 overall and 1–3 in league action.

NWU displayed a great performance and poise on the road, outpacing Loras in nearly every statistical category with 54 kills, 67 digs, and eight aces. Freshman standout Macy Plucker led the charge with 17 kills and 10 digs for her seventh double-double of the year. Setter Elecea Saathoff helped the offense with 45 assists and three aces, while libero Raegan Holle anchored the defense with a match-high 23 digs.


How It Happened

Set One
Nebraska Wesleyan came out focused, jumping to a 12–7 lead behind sharp hitting from Plucker and Molly Ramirez. Loras pushed back late, but the Prairie Wolves closed on a 4–2 run highlighted by a Kobie Patten ace to secure the opening frame, 25–21.


Set Two
The Duhawks responded with improved blocking and defense, edging ahead 20–18. Despite late kills from Jera Schuerman, NWU's rally fell short as Loras evened the match, 25–23.

Set Three
The Prairie Wolves settled back into rhythm in set three, using strong serving from Saathoff and steady defense from Holle to control the pace. A 7–1 run midway through the set broke it open, and NWU pulled away for a 25–19 win.


Set Four
NWU carried the momentum into the final set, dominating from the start. Plucker and Ramirez led a balanced attack, while Holle's defense kept rallies alive. The Prairie Wolves finished the match on a 10–4 run to clinch the victory, 25–18.
