Long Grove, IA - Nebraska Wesleyan women's golf wrapped up its time at the 2025 American Rivers Conference Women's Golf Championship, Monday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Nebraska Wesleyan battled on day one, ending the day in a tie for eighth place with Central at 350. The Prairie Wolves were led by
O'Brasia Amos, who finished the day shooting 78 (+6) on the par 72 Glynns Creek Golf Course in Long Grove, Iowa. Sunday saw NWU slip in the standings to ninth place, after shooting 368. Despite being in ninth, the Black and Gold showed resilience on Monday, posting a nine shot improvement from day two and ending the day with a score of 359. Over the course of three days, Nebraska Wesleyan finished in ninth with a team score of 1,077 (+213),
INDIVIDUAL RECAP
O'Brasia Amos finished as Nebraska Wesleyan's top player, earning a tie for 26th overall and posting a total score of 256 (+40). Amos began the tournament with a strong first round as she shot 78 (+6). The second round proved to be more difficult, as Amos recorded a score of 93 (+21) on the second day of the tournament. Amos would bounce back in the third round, shooting 85 (+13) to climb back into 26th place.
Haley Blackstone was close behind Amos, finishing the tournament with a score of 260 (+44) and earning 31st overall. Over the three day competition, Blackstone played consistent golf, recording scores of 85 (+13), 88 (+16), and 87 (+15).
Lauren Hays followed suit with a 35th place finish after posting a score of 265 (+49). Like Blackstone, Hays stayed consistent over each round she played, posting scores of 89 (+17) and 90 (+18) on the first two days. On day three, Hays elevated her game and finished with her best round of the tournament with a score of 86 (+14).
Shea Meridith finished the tournament in 40th, shooting an even 300 (+84). Meridith began the tournament with a 98 (+26) in round one, before posting scores of 100 (+28) and 102 (+30) in rounds two and three.
Tessa Hurlburt placed just behind Meridith at 41st after posting a score of 303 (+87). Hurlburt shot 105 (+23) in round one, and posted an eight stroke improvement on day two at 97 (+25). Day three would see Hurlburt post a score of 101 (+29).
