HOW IT HAPPENED
Nebraska Wesleyan University's women's soccer team dominated in a 5-0 victory over Cornell College on September 6, 2024, at Abel Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Prairie Wolves took control early and never looked back, with five different players contributing goals in the decisive win.
Lexi Jantzen opened the scoring in the 6th minute, assisted by Amanda Olivas, giving Nebraska Wesleyan an early lead. Bella Slaydon doubled the advantage in the 26th minute with an unassisted goal. Just before halftime, Hannah Churchill converted a penalty kick in the 42nd minute, extending the Prairie Wolves' lead to 3-0.
The second half saw continued dominance from Nebraska Wesleyan. Averie Hike added a fourth goal in the 60th minute, assisted by Emma Parker, and Nella Castaneda capped off the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 70th minute. Cornell College was held scoreless and managed only five total shots in the match.
