LINCOLN, Neb. (September 26th, 2024) - After going a perfect 4-0 at the UW-Lacrosse Invitational last weekend, Nebraska Wesleyan is set to face Cornell College, and Macalester College this weekend.

Nebraska Wesleyan will play a doubleheader on Saturday, September 28th. The Prairie Wolves will take on Cornell College at 11:00 a.m. and face Macalester College at 1:00 p.m. Both matches will be played at Small Athletic and Wellness Center in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
ABOUT THE PRAIRIE WOLVES
Nebraska Wesleyan (11-2, 0-0 A-R-C) has found its stride recently, winning six consecutive matches. The winning streak began on September 7th, with a 3-1 victory over Augsburg. The Prairie Wolves then squeaked out a five set victory over Grinnell, before winning four games at the UW-Lacrosse Invitational last weekend. Nebraska Wesleyan is averaging 14.98 points per set and allowing 12.67 points per set. Through 13 games, NWU has recorded 551 kills (11.24 per set), 503 assists, 728 digs, and 67 blocks, with a team hitting percentage of .191.

Rayna Cain is in her 13th season as head coach of the Prairie Wolves and holds a career record of 184-144. Cain is one of only three coaches in NWU history to surpass 100 career wins and has coached three AVCA All-American honorable mentions and 31 All-Conference athletes.
DOMINANT ON THE ROAD
Though Nebraska Wesleyan is yet to host an opponent at Snyder Arena, the Prairie Wolves have taken a liking to winning away from home. The Prairie Wolves have won 34 sets and lost just 15. On the season there have been six matches where NWU's opponent failed to win a set.
PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER
Nebraska Wesleyan has put together complete performances on both offense and defense during its six game winning streak and they look to keep rolling on Saturday. Offensively, the Prairie Wolves have been on fire, scoring 367 points, while tallying 283 kills, 253 assists, and 342 digs. NWU has also been stout defensively, allowing just 289 points and recording 342 digs.
SCOUTING THE RAMS
Cornell College enters this weekend with a 5-10 record. The Rams are averaging 15.16 points per set and allowing 15.84 points per set. Cornell has a hitting percentage of .165, with 713 kills, 650 assists, 912 digs, 101 aces, and 111 blocks. The Rams are coached by Jeff Meeker, who is in his 23rd season.
