Women's Soccer Falls to Webster, 3-0

FENTON, MO. (September 21, 2024) – The Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves Women's Soccer team faced a tough challenge against the undefeated Webster Gorloks on September 21, 2024, suffering a 3-0 defeat at Worldwide Technology Soccer Park. The loss brought Nebraska Wesleyan's record to 4-5-0 while Webster improved to 5-0-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The match started quickly for the Gorloks, who opened the scoring just 7:44 into the game when Grace Rodgers found the back of the net. Webster doubled their lead just four minutes later, scoring unassisted at 11:54.

Nebraska Wesleyan struggled to create offensive opportunities in the first half, managing only one shot compared to Webster's eight. The Prairie Wolves had a few chances but were unable to convert, while their defense worked hard to contain the Gorloks' attack.

In the second half, the Gorloks continued to score, adding a third goal for Webster in the 52nd minute, sealing the fate of the Prairie Wolves. Nebraska Wesleyan did improve their attacking play after the break, registering three shots, but they were unable to breach the Webster defense and capitalize on their chances.

Goalkeeper Catthi Pham made two saves in the first half before being replaced by Jena Schultz at halftime, who tallied three saves in the second half.
