Lincoln, Neb. (April 9, 2024)- Nebraska Wesleyan was swept by Simpson College on Tuesday afternoon. The Storm took game one 7-3, and game two 6-5.
GAME ONE
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Simpson got out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning.Â
- The Storm added one run in the third.
- Simpson would tally another run in the sixth to take a 4-0 lead.
- The Storm blew the game open in the eighth by scoring three runs.
- Down 7-0, the Prairie Wolves attempted to rally. AÂ three run home run from Evan Kling made the score 7-3. However, the Storm quickly put out the rally and secured the win.

GAME TWO
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nebraska Wesleyan jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first thanks to an RBI triple from Brady Bell, who later scored on a sacrifice fly from Evan Kling.
- In the second, Duncan Ortega scored on a balk which made the game 3-0 Prairie Wolves. However, Simpson responded by scoring three runs in the bottom half of the inning.
- Simpson would grab a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the third. The one run lead would hold until the fifth, where Brady Bell hit an RBI single that scored two runs and gave Nebraska Wesleyan the lead. Simpson would tie the game in the bottom half of the inning.
- In the eighth, Simpson went back up 6-5, thanks to a two out RBI single. This would ultimately decide the game as Nebraska Wesleyan was unable to rally in the ninth.

Nebraska Wesleyan returns home to face Coe College this weekend. Game one is set to begin on Friday, April 12th, at 3:00 p.m. Games two and three will be contested on Saturday, April 13th, with game two beginning at 12:00 p.m. and game three beginning at 3:00 p.m.
