Lincoln, Neb. (April 6, 2024) - Nebraska Wesleyan lost game one, 8-5, but took game two 8-6 on Saturday against Wartburg College. The Prairie Wolves now hold an 8- 13 overall record.
GAME ONE
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Evan Kling gave Nebraska Wesleyan a 1-0 lead on a solo home run in the bottom of the second. Wartburg responded with three runs in the bottom half of the inning.
- A third-inning Max Bugbee solo home run cut Wartburg's lead in half.
- Bugbee tied the game with an RBI single in the fourth. A Carter Betts RBI single gave Nebraska Wesleyan a 5-3 lead later in the inning.
- Wartburg scored two runs to tie the game in the bottom of the fifth.
- Wartburg hit a walk-off three-run home run to win the game 8-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Brady Bell gave Nebraska Wesleyan a 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the top of the first.
- Nebraska Wesleyan went up 4-0 by scoring three runs in the second. First, Aaron Chazin grounded into a fielder's choice but scored Owen Machal. Then Jack Carver scored on a wild pitch. Chazin would score on Brady Bell's second RBI of the game. Wartburg responded with one run in the bottom half of the inning.Â
- Wartburg made the game 4-2 by scoring one run in the bottom of the third.
- In the fourth, Jack Carver scored on a sacrifice fly by Jake Gerardis.Â
- NWU added one more in the fifth thanks to an RBI from Carter Betts.
- Wartburg scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth to cut Nebraska Wesleyan's lead to one.
- A sixth-inning RBI single from Duncan Ortega gave the Prairie Wolves a 7-5 lead. Wartburg responded with one run in the bottom of the sixth.
- An eighth-inning Evan Kling sacrifice fly gave NWU an 8-6 lead. Wartburg was unable to score another run as Nebraska Wesleyan took game three of the series.
