LINCOLN, Neb. (March 16, 2024)Â - Nebraska Wesleyan completed the series sweep against Concordia College-Moorhead, winning both games on Saturday. The Prairie Wolves won game one, 2-1, and won 10-6 in game two.
GAME ONE
HOW IT HAPPENED
- No offensive action occurred in the first three innings, with the score staying at 0-0.
- The Black and Gold took the first lead of the game in the fourth inning after Evan Kling brought home Duncan Ortega, 1-0.
- The Cobbers would quickly level things back up on a pass ball in the fifth inning, 1-1.
- The score would remain even until Aaron Chazin singled with a runner on third in the bottom of the seventh inning, 2-1.
- Nebraska Wesleyan earned its second straight walk-off in two days.
- The zero in the hit column held true for all seven innings of work from Tyson Romero. The junior earned his first no-hitter of the season.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nebraska Wesleyan came out strong in the first inning after a hit by Duncan Ortega resulted in an RBI to start the game, 1-0.
- The Prairie Wolves tacked on three more runs in the fourth inning courtesy of a double by Duncan Ortega and a sacrifice fly from Carter Betts, 4-0.
- Concordia (Minn.) was about to answer back with a pair of runs in the fifth and sixth inning to cut their deficit to four, 6-2.Â
- The Prairie Wolves' bats stayed hot in the sixth inning after Duncan Ortega brought home Jake Gerardis on an infield single and Evan Kling sent a pitch over the right field wall with a runner on base, 9-2.
- In the ninth inning, the Cobbers tried to rally a final comeback, scoring four runs, but pitcher Bobby Simmons put a close to the show, recording the final three outs, 10-6.
