LINCOLN, Neb. (March 15, 2024) - Nebraska Wesleyan clinched the win in the first game of the series against Concordia College-Moorhead on Friday afternoon. The Prairie Wolves won 10-9 in 10 innings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cobbers scored the first run of the game in the first inning.
- The Prairie Wolves took the lead right back after three RBIs were earned by Evan Kling, Brady Bell, and Carter Betts, 3-1.Â
- The Black and Gold made the lead even larger in the fifth inning. Jake Gerardis recorded a sac fly to make the score 6-2. Evan Kling then doubled to bring in another run, and touched all four bags himself to finish the inning, 7-2.
- Concordia made a massive offensive effort in the seventh inning, tying the score at 8-8.Â
- After two innings of no runs, the tied score resulted in a tenth inning where both teams scored runs.
- Following Brady Bell's single to level the score at nine, Owen Machal brought in the game-winning run after getting hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Nebraska Wesleyan prevailed in extra innings, 10-9.Â
