- On Saturday afternoon, the #23 Nebraska Wesleyan men's basketball teamĀ took down the Wartburg College Knights inside Snyder Arena, 71-63.Ā
- The opening half saw a back-and-forth scoring battle, with both teams trading the lead. However, the Knights managed to break away, establishing a 24-16 lead with just 4:19 remaining.Ā
- The Prairie Wolves maintained their offensive aggression. A layup from Carter Glenn narrowed the gap for the Black and Gold, bringing the score to 26-28 going into halftime.Ā
- Coming out of the break, Dale Wellman's squad continued to close the deficit, eventually tying the game at 31-31 with 18:35 remaining.Ā
- The Black and Gold gained momentum and seized the lead with a slam dunk from Conner Brown, putting NWU ahead 38-37 with 15:55 to play.Ā
- The Knights made one final to attempt to pull off the upset, as they tied things up at 55 a piece with 5:09 remaining.Ā
- Clutch free throws down the stretch helped NWU maintain control of the game, shooting 76.5% from the line. Despite the Knights managing some late scores in the second half, the Prairie Wolves emerged victorious with a 71-63 lead.Ā
- Nebraska Wesleyan dominatedĀ Wartburg with a 28-5 advantage in fast break pointsĀ and 32-24 in points in the paint.Ā
- Carter Glenn and Peter Lash led the team with 18 points each, while Conner Brown contributed 12 points.Ā
- Dale Wellman's squad improved their season record to 18-3 overall and 9-3 in conference play.
