LINCOLN, Neb. (February 28, 2024) - Nebraska Wesleyan will open NCAA tournament play on Friday, March 1st, against Centenary College in San Antonio, Texas.

Friday will mark the first meeting between Nebraska Wesleyan and Centenary College.

ROAD TO THE NCAA TOURNAMENT

• Nebraska Wesleyan was selected as an at-large bid after falling to Loras in the American Rivers Conference tournament championship game. Nebraska Wesleyan boasts a 23-4 overall record and earned a share of the American Rivers Conference regular season title.
• Centenary College defeated Colorado College 83-76 in the SCAC tournament championship game to earn an auto bid to the NCAA tournament. The Gentlemen hold a 17-11 overall record. 

SCOUTING THE PRAIRIE WOLVES
Nebraska Wesleyan enters Friday with a 23-4 record. Peter Lash has scored a team-high 470 points and is averaging 17.4 points per game. Lash has also recorded a team-high 208 rebounds and is averaging 7.7 rebounds per game. Carter Glenn leads the Prairie Wolves in assists with 92 and steals with 72. Jack Groeteke has recorded a team-high 48 blocks. As a team, Nebraska Wesleyan is averaging 77.0 points per game. The Prairie Wolves are shooting 46.1% from the floor with a 33.2% mark from three. Nebraska Wesleyan is shooting 77.9% from the free throw line. Defensively, the Prairie Wolves are allowing 67.5 points per game. 

HEAD COACH DALE WELLMAN'S PROFILE
2023-24 American Rivers Conference Coach of the Year Dale Wellman is in his 10th year as the head coach at Nebraska Wesleyan. Wellman enters Friday with a 191-67 record. In his tenure, Wellman has won two national coach of the year and eight conference coach of the year awards. In 2018, he coached Nebraska Wesleyan to a 30-3 overall record and its first national championship. Wellman has won five regular-season conference titles and three conference tournament titles. 

CHAMPIONSHIP CULTURE
Nebraska Wesleyan boasts a history of basketball excellence. Winning the national championship in 2018 and finishing runner-up in 1997, the Prairie Wolves have made five NCAA Division III Final Fours, appeared in 18 NCAA Division III tournaments, and won 16 conference championships. 

ALL CONFERENCE PRAIRIE WOLVES
Peter Lash, Carter Glenn, and Jack Groeteke were all named all-conference in 2023-24. Lash and Glenn were both named first team all-conference while Groeteke was named an honorable mention. Lash averaged 16.6 points per game in 16 league outings and shot 38.3% from the field. Lash also had the fourth highest free throw percentage in the conference shooting 87.5% from the charity stripe. Glenn averaged 15.3 points per game in 16 league outings and shot 42.6% from the field. Glenn averaged 3.3 assists per game, good for third most in the conference. Additionally, Glenn led the conference with 2.2 steals per game. Groeteke averaged 9.8 points per game in 16 league outings and finished first in the conference in blocked shots with 26. Additionally, Groeteke averaged 6.6 rebounds per game, which was the seventh most in the A-R-C.
