LINCOLN, Neb. (November 30th, 2024) - Nebraska Wesleyan women's basketball was dealt a tough 76-43 loss by Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday. The loss drops NWU to 0-6 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Mary Hardin-Baylor raced out to a 23-9 first quarter lead. The Prairie Wolves struggled shooting the ball in the first quarter, finishing with a 16.67 shooting percentage. Nebraska Wesleyan battled to get back in the game in the second quarter, but the Prairie Wolves effort was to no avail as the Crusaders extended their lead to 36-21 as the game entered halftime. The third quarter saw MHBU outscore NWU 29-12. A bright spot for Nebraska Wesleyan in the quarter was
Anecia Toussaint, who scored five points and recorded one block and one rebound. While the Prairie Wolves continued to fight, Mary Hardin-Baylor refused to give any hope for a comeback and secured a 76-43 victory. As a team, Nebraska Wesleyan shot 19.6% from the floor, while the Crusaders made 36.8% of their shots.
