LINCOLN, Neb. (November 14th, 2024) - After taking a 73-52 loss to Mount Marty in their season opener, Nebraska Wesleyan women's basketball is set to compete at the Colorado College Tip-Off Classic this weekend.

Nebraska Wesleyan will face North Central College on Friday, November 15th, at 5:00 p.m. Then on Saturday, the Prairie Wolves will take on Pacific University at 1:00 p.m. Both games will be played at Reid Arena, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. ABOUT THE PRAIRIE WOLVES
Nebraska Wesleyan and new head coach
Jim Wiedie began the 2024-25 season with a 73-52 loss to Mount Marty on Wednesday, November 13th. Nebraska Wesleyan finished the game with a 29.8% shooting percentage, with a 28% clip from beyond the arc. As a team Nebraska Wesleyan hauled in 38 rebounds, while turning the ball over 26 times.
HEAD COACH JIM WIEDIE
Jim Wiedie is in his first season as head coach in 2024. He holds an 0-1 record as the head coach at NWU. Wiedie brings with him a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success. Wiedie has amassed an overall coaching record of 309-226 across 19 years as a head coach at the NCAA Division I and II levels. Known for his strong player development, Wiedie will look to instill a winning culture at Nebraska Wesleyan.
Before joining the Prairie Wolves, Wiedie served as an assistant coach at the University of Nebraska Omaha, focusing on recruiting and player development. He also holds the distinction of being the all-time winningest coach at both the University of Findlay during their Division II era and Indiana State University, leading those programs to new heights.
SCOUTING THE RAMS
North Central enters Friday night with an 0-2 overall record. The Rams score an average of 53.5 points per game, and allow an average of 67.0 points per game. The Rams are led by first year coach David Rohrbach.
