LINCOLN, Neb. (October 31st, 2024) - The Nebraska Wesleyan swim teams are set to compete at two dual meets this week. The Prairie Wolves will travel to Fremont, Nebraska for a Friday afternoon dual with Midland. NWU will then return home to host Minnesota Morris on Saturday morning.

ABOUT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Friday and Saturday will see Nebraska Wesleyan compete in their second and third meets of the season. The Prairie Wolves last competed at the SImpson Relays where both the men's and women's teams earned second place. The Black and Gold earned one gold on the men's side, as Jaryd Holton, Zachary Cantorna, and Mattia Rosatelli placed first in the 3x500 yard freestyle relay. On the women's side, Hannah Gibbs, Lizzie Meyer, Lydi O'Neil, and Hannah Lerch took first in the 200 yard freestyle relay, while Lili Spady, Charlotte Vech, and Emily Carlson won gold in the 3x500 yard freestyle relay. Last year, the Prairie Wolf men went 6-0 in dual meets, while the women went 5-2. Both teams hope to continue to find success in dual play this season.

HEAD COACH KYLE HUNT
Kyle Hunt will enter his fourth season as the head coach at Nebraska Wesleyan. During his tenure, Hunt has guided the Nebraska Wesleyan men and women to two runner up finishes at the American Rivers Conference Swim and Dive Championships. During the 2023-24 season, Hunt led the Nebraska Wesleyan men's team to its first American Rivers Conference Championship. Hunt's tenure has seen countless All-Conference selections, along with numerous school, pool, and meet records. 

NEBRASKA WESLEYAN SWIM TRADITION
Entering year 10 as a program, Nebraska Wesleyan has a brief but growing swim tradition, that has seen the Prairie Wolf men capture the American Rivers Conference crown in 2023, and four total runner up finishes at the A-R-C championship meet. The program has also seen countless all-conference performances.
