LINCOLN, Neb. (October 19, 2024) – Nebraska Wesleyan women's soccer fell to the University of Dubuque, 2-0, at Abel Stadium on Saturday evening. With the loss, the Prairie Wolves drop to 5-9-2 overall and 0-5-2 in American Rivers Conference play, while Dubuque improves to 8-3-3 overall and 3-2-0 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Dubuque struck early, taking the lead in the 8th minute. The Prairie Wolves tried to find their rhythm but were limited to just three shots in the first half. NWU goalkeeper Jena Schultz made key saves to keep the score 1-0 heading into halftime.
In the second half, Dubuque added to their lead with a goal in the 67th minute. Nebraska Wesleyan pressed forward, with shots from Hannah Churchill and Faith Forehand testing Dubuque's goalkeeper, but the Prairie Wolves were unable to capitalize on their opportunities. Despite a strong defensive effort, NWU couldn't overcome the deficit.
