Box Score LINCOLN, Neb. (October 12, 2024) – Nebraska Wesleyan men's soccer secured its first American Rivers Conference victory of the season with a 2-1 win over Coe College at Abel Stadium. The Prairie Wolves now stand at 6-6 overall and 1-3 in ARC play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Nebraska Wesleyan struck early with a penalty kick goal from Owen Glogowski in the 16th minute, following a Coe hand ball in the box. The Prairie Wolves kept the pressure on, and just seven minutes later, Samuel Schendt doubled their lead with a strike off an assist from Eli Rhodes. Despite Coe's efforts, NWU held firm, limiting the Kohawks to just four shots in the first half, and went into halftime with a 2-1 lead after Coe's Ian Kearney pulled one back in the 26th minute.
The second half saw a defensive battle, with neither team able to find the back of the net. Nebraska Wesleyan's defense, anchored by goalkeeper Zachary Weis, stifled Coe's attempts, allowing only three shots after the break.
