Carter Glenn's Last Second Jumper Gives Men's Basketball the Win Over Conference's Top-Ranked Coe College

HOW IT HAPPENEDĀ 

  • On Sunday afternoon, the Prairie Wolves took down theĀ KohawksĀ of Coe College 65-63 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.Ā 
  • Right from the beginning, a back-and-forth scoring battle unfolded as each team traded hard-fought points.Ā 
  • Dale Wellman's squad secured a 24-19 lead with 7:07 remaining in the first half, thanks to three back-to-back three-pointers fromĀ Seth Newton.Ā 
  • As Nebraska Wesleyan maintained momentum, aĀ dunk fromĀ Andrew BrewerĀ and an "and one" fromĀ Elijah Thatchallowed NWU to go into the break with a 35-30 lead over theĀ Kohawks.Ā Ā 
  • Coming out of halftime, theĀ KohawksĀ did not let up, fighting their way back to tie the game at 37 a pieceĀ with 16:24 remaining.Ā Ā 
  • With 5:39 remaining, Coe managed to break away and take the lead at 57-53, yet the Black and Gold remained assertive.Ā Ā 
  • Peter LashĀ established control over the game with a crucial layup, knotting the score at 61-all with twoĀ minutes to go. Lash emerged as a standout performer for the Prairie Wolves, contributing 18 points and grabbing 16 rebounds.Ā 
  • A crucial foul by Coe College sent Landon Torneten to the line. The senior was able to sink both free throws, and Nebraska Wesleyan held a two-point advantage with 1:25 left on the game clock.Ā 
  • TheĀ KohawksĀ were able to get a basket to fall with 18 seconds remaining, leveling the score at 63-63.Ā 
  • Fortunately, a bit of pressure never fazed the Prairie Wolves'Ā Carter Glenn. A jumper from the guard with just 3 seconds remaining secured the lead for Nebraska Wesleyan at 65-63.Ā 
  • Glenn's jumper sealed the deal for NWU, giving them the victory over the American Rivers Conference's top-ranked Coe College, 65-63.
